What Result Can You Expect From an Intervention?
Interventions are generally called for during a time of crisis. The goal of this caring, solution-focused process is to help the addict recognize the need for treatment – in most cases, immediate treatment in a drug and alcohol treatment center that provides appropriate structure and support.
That may seem like some distant fantasy, but that result is often not that difficult to accomplish. In many cases, the focus of the intervention will come away with newfound clarity not only about what the addictive disease is doing to him or her, but also with a humbled recognition of the effect it is having on loved ones. In a majority of cases, addicts who participate in interventions do indeed seek immediate treatment at one of our recommended drug and alcohol treatment centers.
