The Nation’s Most Thorough Clinical Supervision System

CRC has the nation’s most thorough system for training and monitoring both therapists and clinical supervisors at our addiction treatment programs.

With a training, evaluation, and development process that is unmatched in the addiction treatment industry, our goal is to provide an unparalleled therapeutic experience to every client who is referred to a CRC program.

Developed by Chief Clinical Officer Dr. Phil Herschman and our 13-member Clinical Advisory Board, the CRC Clinical Supervision Model is an ongoing process that ensures that all CRC therapists and supervisors meet or exceed the highest standards for patient care and clinical supervision:

  • All CRC counselors train on our philosophy of client-directed, outcome-informed treatment and on five evidence-based practices: CBT, motivational interviewing, stages of change, relapse prevention and 12-step education.
  • All CRC counselors meet or exceed a set of core competencies and will be assessed against those competencies on a quarterly basis. An independent development plan will be created and executed, for each counselor, based on the results of those assessments.
  • Counselor clinical skills are enhanced via a unique and powerful process that includes videotaped counseling sessions, one hour of supervision for every 20 hours of direct service, and supervision of program supervisors via videotaping

At CRC Health Group, clinical supervision is a structured and dynamic process designed to continually improve our ability to provide world-class care to the adolescents and adults who are referred to our programs.
