The 5 Stages of Addiction Recovery
There is no one “right” way to recover from addiction, but people generally work through five stages, many of which occur during drug rehab.
Options for Handling a DUI or DWI
Driving under the influence is a red flag that your drug or alcohol use has gotten out of control. For many, committing a crime or getting into a drunk driving accident is a sign that they’ve hit “rock bottom.”
Don’t Let Your Opiate Addiction Affect Your Baby
The use of opiates among women of childbearing age is an increasing problem throughout the world. According to one study, about 13 percent of pregnant women in the United States use illicit substances during pregnancy, and 19 percent of that number abuse opiates.
The Benefits of Outpatient Rehab
Although inpatient drug and alcohol rehab is recommended for those who have developed severe addictions, there is a less intense alternative for those who are in the beginning stages of addiction and those who need continuing support after undergoing inpatient rehab. Many people require the extra support while transitioning back into society and the demands of daily life.
I started using opiates in high school over 9 years ago. I got into drugs really bad and couldn’t quit on my own. In 2004 things got so awful that I couldn’t hide it anymore and I went to an inpatient rehab for 28 days.
