(Cupertino, CA)-The country’s largest substance abuse treatment provider, CRC Health Group, will hold the Grand Opening of its new headquarters in Cupertino, CA and a news conference at 10 AM, Monday, Sept. 12, featuring Four-Star General Barry McCaffrey (the country’s longest-serving “Drug Czar”, now an International Studies professor at West Point); Cong. Mike Honda; California Dept. of Alcohol and Drug Programs Director Kathryn Jett; Cupertino Mayor Patrick Kwok and City Councilors. CRC Health Group Chairman and CEO Dr. Barry Karlin will host the event.

The News Conference and Grand Opening will be at CRC Health Group’s new location at 20400 Stevens Creek Boulevard, Suite 600, Cupertino CA 95014.
At the news conference, CRC Health Group will announce four-year success figures of its online treatment and rehabilitation program, eGetgoing, demonstrating high completion and satisfaction for this promising approach, the country’s first certified, still in its early phases. The news conference will also discuss new strategies for the opiate, OxyContin, and methamphetamine crises; the need for a continuum of linked behavioral approaches; and aggressive use of the Internet to improve drug treatment assistance and efficiency, with national statistics showing Americans’ increasing use of this device. In addition, a young adult will tell a success story of her recovery through treatment.

Dr. Karlin stated that CRC Health Group is in 21 states, with 87 facilities and over 2500 employees, treating approximately 22,000 individuals daily. The organization provides a comprehensive continuum of care including residential, outpatient, behavioral, and online treatment and rehabilitation services.
Gen. McCaffrey added, “Through substance abuse treatment we address a profound crisis in America, reduce the associated crime, stop the stress on our health system and the drain on tax revenues by restoring productivity, and return chronic addicts to sobriety.”

Both Dr. Karlin and General McCaffrey stated how proud they were that Cong. Honda, Director Jett, Mayor Kwok, community leaders, and treatment experts will join in the news conference and Grand Opening so that “everyone understands that a team effort is needed to confront the drug crisis.”
